Writing Competitions
- Time to Write Short Story Competition. Run by NMIT’s Bachelor of Writing and Publishing to celebrate NMIT’s centenary, this competition is open to stories of up to 1,000 words from writers aged 12 to infinity. Entries close Friday the 18th of May. For more details, click here.
- KSP Speculative Fiction Award 2012 is inviting entries of up to 3,500 words from every form of speculative fiction. Entries close on Friday the 25th of May. For more details, click here.
- CZP/Rannu Fund for Writers of Speculative Literature is open to submissions of up to 7,000 words from every form of speculative fiction. Entries close on Thursday the 31st of May. For more details, click here.
- The Text Prize for Young Adult and Children’s Writing is looking for unpublished manuscripts of pure genius. Manuscripts must be at least 25,000 words long and be suitable for a young adult or children’s readership. Entries open on Monday the 30th of April and close on Friday the 1st of June. - Check out Once Upon an Apocalypse, a two-volume anthology lon the hunt for stories inspired by fairytales, zombies and Lovecraft. Submissions close on Tuesday the 31st of July. For more details, click here.
- Kayelle Press invite submissions of speculative fiction for their post-apoc “Tomorrow” anthology. Submissions open on Friday the 1st of June and close on Sunday the 30th of September. For more details, click here.
- Ticonderoga Publications is seeking submissions for their upcoming Dreaming of Djinn anthology. They are looking for speculative fiction stories inspired by the Arabian Nights. Submissions close on Monday the 15th of October. For more details, click here.
