I should be packing for a New Year’s getaway with the Failboats, so we all know what that means: I will use any means possible to avoid this task. And since I’ve already put the washing in the dryer and taken the rubbish and recycling out, that means I can move onto more enjoyable ways of avoiding packing. Viz., ye olde blog.
After my Christmas with the in-laws, I was up bright and early (well, early, at least) to catch the train up to my parents’ place for my second serve of Christmas. On the way, the entire carriage was entertained by some parent who decided to placate their child by showing them a movie on their computer as loudly as possible. And by “entertained” I mean “wished their computer would implode”.
Thankfully, I soon found myself safe in Beechworth, settling down for my second Christmas lunch whilst surrounded by the ma’s six million Christmas decorations. The lumberjack Santa has found himself a nice new home here, which we are all glad about for vastly different reasons. For my part, I’m just grateful it’s hundreds of kilometres away now, rather than sitting in the kitchen being creepy at me every morning.
As I am sure we have all had enough of Christmas to last a while, I instead present you with photos of the places we went while I was in Beechworth.
That paw belongs to the parents’ cat, Tisha, who has a knack for deciding to sit on your lap when you are in the least comfortable position possible.
Those last two photos are at Ingram’s Rock, which is notable for two reasons: 1. it is incredibly windy at its peak, despite there being not a breath of wind at its base, and, 2. I set a LorF scene there, which was playing in my head as I was gazing out at the view. Maybe I should write that final episode and let everyone know what on earth was going on the whole time. On the other hand, everyone loves a mystery, right?
I have probably procrastinated long enough, now; packing must be done and I am the only one who can do it, alas. I shall be back here some time in 2013, after having spent the new year with the Failboats, kdramas and various shenanigans. See you all then!

Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve, and may the awesomeness continue into 2013
That is certainly the plan! I hope your new year is coming along swimmingly, too.
Hope the trip is lovely. I hate packing too!
Thanks! It’s been a lot of fun so far. I hope you had fun camping, too.
